Piedmontese red wines always amaze us
Bricco San Bernardo 2009 Dogliani DOCG
The name comes from the vineyard that lies near the homonymous Sacrary. It is a red wine, with 14,5 % alcohol content, obtained from Dolcetto grapes. In this year only 3000 bottles were produced, and the vintage was in the second half of September. Vinification in steel and then 18 months in big wooden barrels.
Lets have fun tasting it: the colour is very marked red, red ruby very dark, intense, with violaceous reflexes.
The scent is very harmonious and intense, with fruits, jam and obviously red fruits, most of all plums. You find a pleasant spicing, due to a light use of the wood, that doesnt upset the wine.
The taste has got everything, it is bodied and correctly tannic, elegant and balanced.
